RIP ASWAH GREGGORI 1946-2009
It is with regret that I announce the passing of a long time staple in the Chicago Reggae Music scene, Aswah Greggori of "Aswah Greggori & The Enfocers". He died 2 days ago of cancer near his birth home near New Orleans LA.
Aswah Greggori was sometimes quiet, always humorus & he always stood for what is positive in this world. He had no tolerance for the backbitting, undermining or jelaousy which sometimes can tarnish the Reggae community here in Chicago!
Aswah was the very 1st Regional Reggae Artist who performed & was interviewed for the television show Mystic Vibes. The gift he gave me was the Master Piece track off the album, "Love To Love" "Shame Dub" which is the Mystic Vibes Opening Theme Music. I told him it is a beautiful instrumental work of music and he allowed me to use it as the theme. He left a legacy of wonderful POSITIVE REGGAE MUSIC! I will miss him.
I pray that JAH will continue to bless & keep the family, friends & loved ones he left behind.
